Hotel suggestions for July needed in Vienna
We need hotel suggestions for 3 nights toward the end of July in Vienna, close to everything in the city center. The issue we seem to be encountering is that we need an air conditioned triple room for 3 adults. We don't want to pay a fortune, $250/night or under. Any suggestions on where to look for accommodations or things to do/see in Vienna would be appreciated. Thanks!

My husband and I visit Vienna almost yearly and for the past 3 years we have stayed at Hotel Capricorno on Schwedenplatz. It is very well located, easy walking distance to all major sights, and about a 4 or 5 minute walk to the spot where the airport buses stop. The rooms are nice and the hotel is air conditioned. The price includes a very good breakfast which includes champagne! We have always stayed in a regular double room but I just looked at their site and they have a "superior" double room which accommodates 3, with double bed and sofa bed. I think the price is within your budget. Good luck.

Thanks but I looked at the Capricorno web site and the superior double room was not available for our dates. We have reserved a room at the Marriott, which offers 2 double beds and is cancellable up to 2 days before we arrive. I feel somewhat better, as at least we are guaranteed somewhere to sleep. Still searching for the elusive charming place to stay, but the Marriott will do if we can't find anything else.

I don't know if they have the triple rooms that you need, but we just got back from a stay in Vienna at hte K+K Maria Theresa. We paid ~200E/night for a double. It was a very nice, and somewhat charming hotel, and it did have air conditioning...we were surprised to find this was a necessity as it was 85F in Vienna last week! Didn't expect that the first week of May. Anyways, it is an option you could look into. The location is less central than some, as its not right in the middle of the ring, but its an easy walk to the museums, and the Hofburg, and not hard to get around. about 5 minutes from the Volksoper u-bahn stop, so easy access to public transit.
