My wife and I are going to be in Paris for 24 hours, and would like to find a hotel at the airport, or near the airport, that is very nice. Any suggestions? Any advice on ones to avoid? Thank you!

The Sheraton is very nice, as is the Sofitel. Avoid the Novotel and Radisson.

We've stayed at the CDG Novotel, and it was, actually, quite nice for the money/value. Double bed and sofa bed in room, quite spacious for France. Internet rate even included their nice breakfast. Real treat was the A/C (remember last summer's heat wave??). Very convenient hotel shuttle to terminal that runs quite frequently. No problem at this place. If you're interested, it's part of the Accor hotel chain, which you'll find at www.accorhotels.com. Happy travels!

We also stayed at the Sheraton. It was expensive by my standards (maybe $250 with a pre-paid rate) but it was wonderful to simply take the elevator to the airport rather than hassling with a cab, train or shuttle bus. It really worked for my family to get a good night of sleep before a long journey home the next day (flights + a 4 hr. drive.)

I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott for one night in October. It's quite new and really beautiful. The rooms are lovely and have everything you would want. The restaurant is nice, and overlooks the pretty lobby (lots of marble, etc.), and there is also a very nice bar area. I enjoyed the dinner, and the breakfast buffet is really great. They have a shuttle to the hotel, which leaves every 20 minutes from Terminal 2 near the TGV station.
It's not as expensive as the Sheraton or Sofitel, but is probably just as nice. I will definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Hilton and it was very nice. I got put up there for free along with about 50 other folks due to AA cancelling a flight for a day, and even though that was a pain, the hotel was really nice. Some folks said they were ready to move in as it was nicer than their studio apts. back home in NY. The rooms were huge, nice tasteful furniture, great bathroom with both separate shower and tub, everything you could want.

We also stayed at the Hilton and found the rooms very pleasant. However, the choices for dining were pretty limited.

You might want to check prices on laterooms.com and lastminute.com once you've decided what's acceptable to you.

If you want to stay away from the airport, I've taken note of these 3 chateaux from another poster here...no personal experience but the websites look nice

We also stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. It is a lovely hotel and was quite reasonably priced. You can walk around a small park and town from the hotel. Good shuttle back and forth to airport.

We stayed at the Radisson SAS in Sept. and I highly recommend it. Rooms fairly large, well provisioned, clean, etc. What we liked most was that we arrived from Rome at 3pm and wanted to get into city before dark to walk, have dinner, etc. Their concierge was outstanding. Gave us detailed metro instructions, took us to the metro in the hotel van, gave us good instructions for getting a cab back since we didn't leave Paris until close to midnight and took us to the terminal the next morning to catch our flight to the states. And the whole thing was around 130 Euros including a good buffet breakfast. The hotel has a pool and exercise room which we didn't use.

We also need a hotel near CDG for our last night. There are 6 of us, 3 adults & 3 kids, and I'm wondering if we can get by with 2 rooms. I notice some of the hotels are adamant about max 2 people per room. Are rollaways hard to come by?
