Will be driving from Brugge to Alsace region and would like to find charming hotel to spend the night to cut the trip in half. Any suggestions?

Auberge La Grande Cure, in Marcourt-en-Ardenne, less than 10 km off your direct route from Bruges to Strasbourg - - http://www.hotelsbelgium.net/ardennes/la_grande - - 2 hrs 25 minutes from bruges, 3 hrs 35 minutes from Strasbourg. <BR> <BR>2. Hotel Cap au Vert - - in Grandvoir, also pretty much right on your route - - http://www.capauvert.com/hotelen.htm - - this one is part of the Relais du Silence collection - - http://www.abc-hotel.com/relaisdusilence/index.htm - - not every one of the properties listed there actually has a working web site. <BR> <BR>3. Hostellerie Le Sanglier des Ardennes, in Durbuy (a town that gets a lot of "raves" AND "rants" here on this forum). We had traveled across Belgium on one of our holidays, and I would recommend Dinant -- a gorgeous riverside town about 20 miles south of Namur. The town spreads on both sides of the river. The part of town on the north bank is actually built into rock cliff walls. There is a 16th fortress sitting on the cliff-top that can be toured. The town is absolutely charming. The part on town on the south bank has a daily morning market, and that shore offers impressive views of the cliffs and the fortress. <BR> <BR>Other towns that would also be a charming option would be Viaden or Echternach in Luxemburg. Viaden has a fairy-tale castle on a steep hilltop in the middle of the village, and Echternach has many medevial ecclesiastical structures and a tourist-friendly main square. <BR> <BR>All three towns are lovely. I'm certain that a web search will give you many viable options for charming hotels in any of the three.
