Hotel Roesli in Lucerne?

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Roesli or Baslertor in Lucerne? I am trying to finalize trip plans in August (I know...) and am looking for a cheap - but nice -hotel. Thank you for your help.

P.S. I think I am in love with this website!

Sorry, I have not stayed at Roesli or Baslertor, so I cannot be of much help on this. But it sounds good - quiet, but central. I guess you realized that Roesli is the dependancy of Hotel Baslertor? Maybe you will not have much service at the Roesli.

I.

Jami:
Ingo is right. The "Roesli" (little rose) is the "budget line" of the "Baslertor".

You might want to have a look at the first Swiss jailhouse hotel, called "Loewengraben". A jailhouse which has been turned into a hotel. Location is very good.
Wondering, if anybody has stayed there. Must be quite fun.
http://www.loewengraben.ch/lg_neu/

Thank you for your replies. I think we are going to go for the Baslertor (cheap, but not too cheap!). I looked at the Jailhouse, very cool, but would give me the willies!!!

I walked to the Roessli/Baslertor area when we visited in May. Quiet, nice area. The sense I got was that the Baslertor was nicer and had service people on premises. The Roessli, however, looked to have one or two rooms with a peek of the Reuss.
