Hotel Recommendations, Oslo and Bergen

Doing a summer fjords cruise in July and looking for hotel recommendations in Bergen and Oslo. Any positive personal experiences and recommendations appreciated. We're retired and appreciate comfort, good service and walking access to sites of interest. TIA.

In Bergen 3 hotels spring to mind, and I've been in all of them. They're all excellent, the choice depends on your preferences for location and your mood:

Havnekontoret: in the old Harbour Management Offices, just off Bryggen and in easy walking distance of "everything" downtown (Bergen isn't very large)
Hanseatiske: super authentic, lots of wood, and in the old Hanseatic quarter (Bryggen). Very very historical.
My favorite though was Villa Terminus. Very stylish, large rooms, near Central Station

The first two are very, very central, the third one a bit less so, if it's Fish Market and Bryggen you're after, but very close to Bergen proper and also to Kunsthallen and the excellent KODE museums.

We had an excellent experience at the First Hotel Bergen. Have stayed there twice. Great location, lovely staff. Transport to the dock was included.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Oslo and loved staying there. Extremely helpful concierge desk, great breakfast and dinners.
Bergen, stayed at Hotel Neptun which was a free perk given to us by Hurtigruten. It was across the small bay from the historic section. We were put in the newer section which was nice.
