Hotel question, Madrid

Planing a week stay in Madrid in mid May.
My usual hotel in Salamanca is fully booked.
I have found several Petite Palace hotels in Salamanca / Retiro..that look interesting
If you are familiar with any of them, your input would be appreciated.

Not familiar with them, but have walked by a few times. We have been staying in the Mercure Lope de Vega, very close by the Retiro Petit Palace, for the past three days. (My favorite hotel was also not available). Great location and the room we have is more spacious than many others we've encountered in Spain. Very nice bathroom and shower. Good breakfast. Front desk people are pleasant and helpful.

I stayed at the Lope de Vega before Mercure acquired it, and the location met my needs extremely well. BUT it's not in the Salamanca district....
