Hotel prices in September?
Hi all. I have been furiously researching hotels for our week in Paris in late September. I am looking in the St Germain and Latin Quartier areas, but I might have to change to another area?
I am looking for a hotel around 100-120E/night, and by looking through threads here and elsewhere have found a few nice hotels in this price range and area (Grand Hotel des Balcons, Hotel Familia, Hotel Design de la Sorbonne, and a few others). However, some of their deals available in August disappear in September.
Is this just because September is more popular, or should I wait for another month or so to find better deals?
If anyone can also point me in the direction of other hotels I should try, I would be grateful. Thanks!

September is a very popular month to visit Paris both for individual tourists and trade conventions/business meetings after the holiday break. I wouldn't wait any longer to book as you may have a hard time finding a room within your budget.
There are many many threads on this board that have recommendations for Paris hotels. There are two for Paris Left Bank and Paris Right Bank with lots of recommendations in each thread.

August: Locals away, no business visitors, slack taken up by leisure travellers - hence deals but not sufficient to fill all vacancies.
September: Locals back, business and cultural visitors returning, tourism still popular, hence few deals and full hotels.

Paris hotel rates don't vary month by month, there are just a few rate periods (barring special websites). The cheapest rates are mid-July through August. No, you won't find that at any other time, when so many hotels have discounts.
There are some hotels that may give discounts in November through early Dec. or mid-Jan through Feb, but that isn't nearly as common as July-August which are very common in lots of hotels.
Just about the entire rest of the year is the same rate, although a few hotels may raise rates a bit in prime convention/exposition season (which is Sept-October) or others may have more stringest cancellation standards. I'm going in September, for example, and some hotels have a 7 day cancellation notice period without charge, whereas usually it would be 1 to 3 days.
The most expensive is usually a few weeks around Christmas/NY holidays,

Oh, I thought you meant should you wait for hotel deals another month, and you might find some in early Dec or February, but of course, the weather isn't so nice.
But if you mean should you wait a month because you think hotels will drop their rates for September in another month -- heavens, no, you will be lucky to get a room if you wait till the last minute for that time period.

Try.... Hotel de Seine at 52, rue de Seine, in the 6th. I don't know about September, but I looked for mid-late August and a rate of 100 Euros popped up which I really wasn't expecting to see. I stayed at that hotel for nine years of trips. Go directly on their website at hoteldeseine.com. That's where I saw the discounts. You have to check several times a day as the discounts pop up and vanish and then pop up again. Happy Travels!

Thanks all for your feedback. I have found a few hotels which look quite nice, in good locations, for around E120, so on your advice I'll go ahead straight away and book.
Guenmai - I'll check out the Hotel de Seine also, thanks.
ira - double, for my husband and myself.
adrienne - thanks for that tip, I have searched individually, but hadn't found that thread. There were some gems in there!
Thanks all for your help!
