Hello Everyone!<BR><BR>My husband and I will be in Venice for 4 days this September and are booked at a place called Venzia Santa Croce. It's a private apartment near Campo Santa Maria Mater Domimi and Campo San Giacomo. It'a 10 minute walk to Rialto and a 15 minute walk to San Marco. It's $88.00 a night. Has anyone stayed here? Is this a good price and location? As you can tell I have never been to Italy before and I am trying to make sure I stay within budget and find decent places to stay that are centrally located. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. We are looking to stay for 4 nights and would like to spend $75.00-$85.00 per night. We don't mind a lower star type of place as long as it's clean. Thanks so much!<BR><BR>Heidi

Heidi--<BR>If you found this place on the internet, didn't they have photos or descriptions? If you were booked thru a travel agent, have them find out about it. If you booked it yourself, get a good street address, write a letter, and have them send you a brochure, description, or whatever they have to describe the place. I wouldn't count on people having been there; there are so many private apartments in Venice that it's unlikely you will run across someone who has stayed in a specific one. If all else fails, just go with your best judgment. Most places are pretty nice in Venice.

I forgot to say that the price is good for a Venice apartment, and the location in Santa Croce is OK too.

The Splendid Suisse is between the Rialto & San Marco...great location and great hotel !!<BR><BR>Rob
