Hotel in Tucan or Umbrian Countryside

I'm looking for a place to stay in the countryside, but ideally less than 20 minutes from a nearby town where we can eat dinner, etc. We're looking for something a little fancy, with a budget close to $250 or a bit more. Thanks! We'll be staying in Bevagna for a few days, so hoping to have some time in the countryside too where we can do bike rides, etc.

Rent yourself a room or a darling little chalet-type apartment from Vacanze Ideale just outside Paciano. There are many good cafés and restaurants nearby in Paciano and Panicale. I just loved that place!

We've spent 9 days in Bevagna several months ago and LOVED it. Loved Bevagna, loved Umbria. We stayed in a small hotel there in the middle of town called Palazzo Brunamonti which I can HIGHLY recommend. But if you are looking for something nearby in the countryside, try Genius Loci Inn, a new place run by an ex- Californian living 39 years now in Umbria (so language will not be a problem). The pictures on the website and the reviews have been great.

thanks for the tip! I think we'll do a few days in palazzo brunamonti and then add a few days in the countryside elsewhere.

honeyluna,

It might not be far enough from Bevagna but we stayed at Le Case Gialle last year. Fantastic property overlooking the Umbrian countryside. A great base to do day trips from. Check out their site at http://www.lecasegialle.it. And yes, it really is as beautiful as it looks.
