Hotel in Paris

My wife and I will be in Paris for 3 days towards the End of May. Our budget is $100.00 per day for the hotel.
We have never been to Paris.
Any recommendations on hotels within this price range will be appreciated.
Preferably close to the Latin Qtr or the St. Germain, but not necessary.

Try Hotel Residence Monge. Ask for a room with a balcony.

Try to look at Hotel Rive Gauche, in Saint Germain..A two star hotel that must be in your budget. The hotel is clean and nice.

i stayed at the Hotel de Mericourt (11th).around 80$ nightly for a double room.this was the first time we tried a 2star.i like spending my limited budget on entrance fees rather than on hotel luxury but my wife was a bit worried she would not like it.we were pleasently surprised.
the room (and hotel itself) was tiny but clean and suited our needs.had a shower/bath & tv. no a/c or fridge. it has an elevator.we went in august.it wasnt hot but if it was i would ask them for a fan. breakfast was tiny but yummy.
they have a staff member at reception at night.the neighbourhood was nice and hotel was 100yards from a metro stop so we didnt need a taxi.the staff were very friendly.we are used to spending our anniversary at our local 4/5 star hotels to relax on our anniversary but for holidays in europe i have used 2stars ever since.

Hi,

Thank You for all your responses to my initial query. Has anyone stayed at the

HOTEL DE FRANCE Quartier Latin
108 rue MONGE 75005 PARIS
FRANCE

I am able to find a room within my budget, but was not able to find any reviews for this Hotel on Tripadvisor.

Does anyone have any comments on this Hotel.

I see that at tripadvisor.com there is a Hotel de France that has two very positive comments, but it is a different hotel, in the 7th district, not the 5th.

Hello,
I just got back from staying at Hotel du College de France this week. It was my second stay and I would stay there again. It is located one block up from St. Germain Blvd and close to Maubert & Cluny Metro stations. A double room may be a bit more than $100, but I would still check them out. The website is nice with lots of pictures.

If you can request a certain room ask for a room on the 6th floor, I think I stayed in room 64. You can see the top part of the Eiffel Tower from one of the windows. The people are also really friendly and helpful even if you don't speak french.
