hotel in Florence with internet access

I've just realized I'll have a few days before my flight home and would like to stay in Florence. I haven't been there for years, so I'd like to revisit some of the sights and stay some place close to attractions.

I'm female traveling alone (mates will be in the area but we're not staying together) so I'd like to have a hotel under $250 a night that would give me in room internet access.

I'm realizing that 3 days in Florence in September is going to be hard to find availability.
Any recommendations?

I am not sure on the internet access - but there are many internet cafes around Florence. I saw a lot more then when we were in Rome.

The Hotel Casci is within your price range and as I recall there was free internet access in the lobby of the hotel. We were on it several times during our brief stay and had no problem gaining access to it.

I found that from my hotel window I would access 3 or 4 wireless networks, and see another 10 or so that required password.

If you are traveling with your own computer, make sure you have good, up to date security software.

thanks for the replies. I know it may seem an odd request since this isn't strictly a business trip, but since I'm on my own, i'd like to be back at the hotel earlier in the evenings and spend evenings checking in with the loved ones back home.

The tourist house ghiberti is a great option, but it's only available for part of my stay. I may just book there anyway and spend my first nigth somewhere nearby

Check out www.villa-belvedere.com. We always stay there when we go to Florence and love it and believe they do have room internet access (not sure).

We stayed at Relais Grand Tour in October, and had a computer with internet access in our room. I'm pretty sure all the rooms are equipped. It's also a fabulous place, and very reasonably priced.

If you have your own computer, Hotel Casci has wi-fi in the rooms now. You are given a code which is good for 3 hours and you just surf away. Any time you need a new code, just call the desk and ask for one.

Another tip, as I have been to the Casci four time, as a single female traveling alone, you will feel very safe there. It is a small family-run hotel and they are just marvelous people, caring, sensitive and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The hotel is immaculate, in a fabulous central location but still very quiet, and there is a night porter on duty when the family/owners go home for the night.

Highly recommended.

i should also mention, the room checker on the website quoted me a triple price 570 euros for 3 nights but when i emailed them directly, they quoted me 110 euros a night, even though it's a very busy weekend. I think that's very reasonable

redmanc - I am happy you managed to find room in Hotel Casci. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did (and the other almost 300 satisfied clients who make this hotel #3 on tripadvisor). It is a great place for a quiet spot to "come home to".
