Hotel in Amsterdam

We are a small group (10). We will be in Amsterdam in September. I am looking at the Best Western Leidse Square. The rate is reasonable about $200 USD per night per room. Can anyone give me any information regarding this hotel and its location. I also looked at BW Dam Square, but it is not avilable during the time that we will be there. It has been difficult to find enough rooms at the price we want to pay.

The Leiseplein (or square) is physically a great location but is also rather boisterous - a huge gathering area which would not be my first choise - I'd rather have the quieter spaces on quaint canals, etc.

check the Amsterdam VVV or Tourist Office for a comprehensive listing of hotels of all qualities and they also offer a booking service.

topping this thread because there are folks who did not see it and can comment on this question better than I.

If it were me I would rather be in a less busy, boisterous (trams constantly clanging till midnight and from 5am for example) area like around Vondel Park or around the museums area or to the west and north of the main train station - an area of quaint quiet canals.

Do we assume that you are looking for 5 rooms for 2 people each and that the prie for each room is $200?

I would not stay on te Dam. Leidseplein is slightly better but neaar Vondel park is not so noisy/busy.

Try the Hotel Residence le Coin. Very reasonably priced. Each room has a kitchenette. Excellent central location.
