We have stayed at this hotel four different times. The staff is extremely nice and all speak English. The rooms are comfortable and each has a kitchenette with a stove, toaster oven, refrigerator, sink, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. The bathrooms are large with a tub, toilet, and hair dryer. The beds are comfortable. The television has CNN, BBC, and strangely enough an American religious channel. The optional breakfast is amazing: croissants, bagettes, pain au chocolaits, juice, cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, and more.

If you are fling into CDG Airport, the hotel is extremely easy to get to. Take the Roissy bus from CDG to Opera. At Opera take the metro to Sebastian Froissard (sorry I cannot remember the exact name). The Home Plazza Bastille is a one to two minute walk from the metro.

The neighborhood is quiet. The hotel has private gardens and the rooms are set back from the street. There are restaurants, bakeries, and stores very near.

The metro station is only on one line Balard - Crec ? (sorry again, I do not have my metro map in front of me) but only one transfer is needed for most sites (Louvre, Rodin Museum, d'Orsay, Arch de Triomphe).

If you book directly from their web site, you can get the room for 50% off the rack rate. They also participate in Quest and Entertainment 50% off rates.

They have a website. If you cannot find it, email me and I will send it to you. PLMK if you need more information.

I go to Paris 3 or 4 times a year.

Sherri,
This hotel sounds interesting and if you could answer these questions here I'd appreciate it. I looked at their website and see that they have standard rooms and jr. exec. suite - which did you have? How large would you say the rooms are (12x12, 15x15, etc.)? Do they do daily maid service? I guess I am trying to figure out if a standard room (it does come with kitchenette, right?) would be comfortable for a 10 day visit since so many rooms in Paris are so tiny (we've been many times and hardly ever come across a room that is large enough to be really comfortable in without paying an ungodly amount). How far from the Metro stop is the hotel in blocks? The web page said they have non-smoking rooms, did you actually see (or stay in) any? Do they have a non smoking section to the buffet breakfast room? Any other info you have from personal experience would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

These are the kinds of things I wish they said on websites and you can only find out from people who actually stay in the hotels.

We have a standard room each time. All rooms have a kitchenette. A standard room is large enough to hold a table with two chairs, two twin beds, a nightstand. The rooms are larger than most Paris hotel rooms; but not as large as the typical American room. The bathroom is fairly large. Sorry I do not have dimensions. The room is sufficient for two people; three would be crowded. The hotel has daily maid service with a change of towels. You are supposed to wash your dishes; there is an extra charge if you do not wash the dishes on your last day.

After exiting the Metro (St. Sebastian), you cross the street). The Home Plazza is on the next street, half a block down. If you walk really slowly, it might take two minutes.

The hotel does have non-smoking rooms. I do not think smoking is allowed in the breakfast room ( I do not remember seeing anyone smoke). Breakfast is optional. You can get a room without breakfast.

The website is http://www.1st-paris-hotelsplazza.com

The website special rate for mid March through July is 615FF for a regular double ($99 US), 758FF for a superior double ($119 US), and 826FF for a junior suite with sitting area. Breakfast is an additional 78FF per person ($12 US).

Hotel Reservations network also shows availability at $119 US but the cost includes breakfast but not taxes.

If the website is incorrect, go to expedia and click on hotels. When the Home Plazza Bastille comes up you can click on the web site. You can reserve over the web through the Home Plazza's web site.

There are much cheaper places to stay in Paris but this hotel is really nice and the kitchenette really helps if you need a refrigerator or are on a special diet and need to prepare your own food.

Thanks for all the info Sherri - it is really helpful to others to have details from someone who actually stayed in a specific hotel - pictures and websites frequently only show the deluxe rooms, etc. I am definately going to consider this place for our next trip. Thanks again!
