Hi

I stayed in a 3* hotel two doors down, Hotel de L'Odeon as I recall - nice neighborhood. I couldn't give you names of what is nearby, just can tell you that you are in a good location and will have no probs rolling out of bed and finding neat things to do, eat & see...

beth

I stayed at the Grandes Ecoles in January. There are plenty of small restaurants and cafes in the area. Along Rue Mouffetard are some great creperies (the chocolat crepes are a wonderful evening treat) and a fruit & veg market.
Everything is Paris is easy to get to by walking, so you really don't need to worry about eating in the evening near the hotel. It was a safe neighborhood at night; my favorite thing to do was stroll the Rue Mouff before turning in for the evening. You'll love it!
