Hotel Fenelon Carennac
I am considering staying at Hotel Fenelon in Carennac. Information is pretty thin on the ground, can anyone who has stayed there tell me a little about the rooms and if they have a view, cost, and the pool and grounds. Is Carennac a nice town to wander at night? I haven't been able to find a photo or a website mentioning this hotel, can you help?

Hi, toni:
We stayed at the Fénelon (it's the Hostellerie Fénelon - that might help in your web searches)in 2000 on our way to the (not very) Incroyable Piquinique in the Corrèze.
First of all, Carennac is a darling town, very prettily arranged and with a great medieval church with a well-known tympanum. There isn't a lot of commerce, just a few shops, but the town is so pretty it's fun just to walk along the river, over the bridge, and around the little streets.
Our room was fairly large, with two double beds, an armoire, a desk and a couple of chairs, with a view over the pool. We didn't use the pool because it was cool and rainy, but the pool area was attractive. The beds were comfortable. I don't remember if we had a TV or other amenities like that, but I don't remember thinking the room was lacking in anything. The only drawback to our stay there was the churchbell that rang VERY loudly every half-hour all night long. It seemed to be coming from right next to our window, though of course it wasn't. We did not sleep well. We had a corner room that overlooked the main street on one side. If I went back, I'd ask for a room at the back of the property.
I'm just looking at our bill and we paid 360F for the room, so it was about $60.00 5 years ago. The proprietors were very accommodating, and the common areas were clean and comfortable.
Here's the website for the Carennac Tourist Office, in case you don't have it:
