Hotel Europe Saint Severin, Paris

Has anyone stayed here? It is in the Latin Quarter on Saint Severin. Which I think is a pedestrian street. It is about $64 for a single, so in a good price range for me! Another one nearby that is about the same price is the Hotel Saint Andre-des-Arts. Both include shower and toilet.
Anyone stayed at either of these places and can give me feedback?

Cindy: When I was a student, I used to stay at the Saint-André-des-Arts. It's a real budget place for younger people. Good location though. But make sure to get a room to the back. Rue Staint-André-des-Arts is busy all night with loud pedestrians...
There are better budget places around. check www.paris-touristoffice.com or

Cindy: Just checked Rue Saint-Séverin out. Very busy as well (a lot of restaurants). In the hotel building itself is a restaurant. So the same goes for this hotel as well. The 5th arr. (Quartier Latin) is all over quite busy unless you know where to stay. Come back for any question if you like, ok?

Thanks for the info. I'll be traveling alone and I want to stay somewhere that I am close to the Metro and be able to walk easily to Louvre,Notre Dame, Orsay and so on. I also want to be near a restaurant and feel comfortable walking home at night after dinner. I was thinking this location would meet those needs. I also want to be in a quiet hotel - am I giving that up by staying on one of these pedestrian streets? I did walk by the Saint Severin on my last visit to Paris and it looked good enough from the outside that I picked up a card to save for my next trip!

Cindy: Try "Hotel de la Sorbonne", 6, rue Victor Cousin, Paris 5th, off Rue St.-Jacques. Also Quartier Latin but not so noisy and busy.
For details www.paris.org.
Go to "hotel", "5th Arr.".
Don't worry. You could walk home taking Rue St.-Jacques which is quite busy. You'ill find people in the streets until midnight if not later. If it should not match with your budget, find out by the website of the Tourist Office I gave you. You can type in area, price, even Métro station. The problem ist, that these budget places are all rather small and known all over the world. So they are often solid booked for weeks if not months. When do intend to go? If you are not sure about the street, come back. Good luck!

Thanks again Ursula! I really appreciate your help! I will be there 5/19 - 5/25. I saw another post you answered for the de la Sorbonne and will check it out! I found the area on my map.
