Does anyone know this hotel- 51 buckingham gate, Taj Suites and Residences? It is close to Buckingham Palace, St James park. Would this be a nice area to be in during a trip to London? How far is it from the O2 ?

it is a very nice/central area. It is next door to Buckingham Palace and very close to St James Park tube station.

But it is all the way across London from O2 - which is in Greenwich- nowhere near central London.

ps: I thought we had explained where O2 is and that it is not in central London on your other thread .

You did mention that, thanks. I just figured we don't necessarily need to be close to the O2 as we are only going to be there one evening out of the whole trip.

I totally agree - it's just that you asked "<i>How far is it from the O2 ?</i>"

Distance is not so important as the simplicity of the journey there: so I would look along the Jubilee Line, or places where it's easy to get to stops on the Clipper boat line from the O2 (London Bridge, Embankment, Waterloo). In this case the journey would be quite easy - bus (or District Line from St James's Park) to Westminster station on the Jubilee Line.
