Hotel Cathedrale in Strasbourg - anyone stayed here?
Hello,
We are spending one night in Strasbourg and were undecided between Hotel Europe which was recommended on this site and Hotel Cathedrale recommended in Rick Steves guidebook. Anyone stayed in Hotel Cathedrale? Looks very nice on the website - overlooks the Cathedrale and the prices are slightly lower as they include breakfast (for 4 of us so makes a difference). Appreciate any input.
Thanks. Also, any other tips on Strasbourg appreciated.

Yes, stayed there this summer. Nice to look out the window and see the cathedral. Price was pretty good, we thought.
We are not very picky when it comes to hotels, as long as it is clean, as we don't spend much time in the room. Actually, this one was much nicer than a lot of ones we have stayed in (which we also thought were just fine too).
Seeing the catherdral in late afternoon light is wonderful. It turns "pink". Just strolling the streets after dark, along all the waterways. Loved it

Dear Ekellyga,
Thanks for your comments. We don't spend much time in the hotel either; for us, location is more important, particularly on a short visit. To that end, is the location good? I am assuming so since it is in a pedestrian zone and near the Cathedral, but would appreciate your input. Are restaurants, sights close by.

The location couldn't be better. You are right at the heart of Strasbourg in the Cathedral square. For tips on Strasbourg, try the search function. One recent thread with suggestions is
