Shelia, There is the California Saint-Germain Hotel at 32 Rue Des Ecoles. It is in the Quartier Latin, about 2 blocks from Notre Dame. Don't know if that is the one you refer to. I have info on it if you want - just e-mail me.

We checked out anumber of hotels on the rue des Ecoles including the Hotel California, and for the price, size of the rooms and friendliness of the staff we chose the Tulip Inn (the hotels are 50 yds apart). It's at 33 rue des Ecoles - the phone number is 33 1 43 543778. The have a website www.tulipinn.com. We were there in November 2000 and paid 750ff for a double with breakfast. We had a nice little balcony and the toilet and shower were on separate sides of the room which made getting ready for a couple a little easier. The hotel personnel were very friendly and willing to speak english (especially since we attempted some french). The hotel is a very short 5 minute (if even) walk to Notre Dame and even an shorter walk to the closest train station. We found it very convenient.

Métro: George V., just off Champs-Elysées.
173 rooms, single around FF 2000.-, double FF 2500.-.
Which ever you mean, have a good trip!
We are staying at the one on Rue de berri. Another silly question..is that the right or left bank. I thought it was the right but when I looked it up in "10Best" it said left. I'm confused but then again...it doesn't take much. I sure hope we get out of here. They're predicting a major snowstorm here for Sun.night into Mon. and Tues. I HATE WINTER.

It's on the right bank. Rue de Berri runs between the Champs Elysees and Boulevard Haussmann. I'm assuming you know this since you responded to the thread Tracy topped for you (California Hotel Paris). Have a great trip--I think you're ready for one.

Tramy, Why don't you e-mail me at home and I will give you the info that way. I will be in Paris about that time as well, but am staying next door. There are three hotels in a row and they are part of the same chain. In fact you will be eating breakfast at the hotel I'll be in. They have a web site also.
