Hotel Brouwer Amsterdam

Hi

We are thinking of staying here in Feb. Has anyone stayed there that can recommend a certain room I should ask for when making the reservation?? Anyone got any bad things to say to deter us from staying there???

Thanks in advance

J

Hi.

Go to channels.nl, click on "hotels" and scroll down the reviews. Brouwer is listed in the second tier and there are many reviews.

You're welcome.

I heard this hotel mentioned many times (favorably) when I was planning my A'dam trip... and I thought it was here on Fodors, so am surprised you haven't gotten any responses. It was one I looked into but (again if I'm not mistaken) it is no smoking (of any thing) place and with a small number of rooms available. But besides that people had posted good reviews.

Maybe check over on Lonely Planet Thorn Tree?

We stayed here the summer 2003. It was very clean and well located. I would definitly stay here again. It was run by an American women and her Dutch husband. They were very nice and kept a tidy establishment. We had a good breakfast each morning and plenty of advise when we asked for it. Also, it is`a short walk (10 minutes) from the train station. As you walk up the Singel Canal from the train station, stay on the left bank of the canal.
