Hi
I don't know the hotel, but it might be helpful if you posted the address or nearest tube stop so at least people might comment on the neighborhood.

The Bonnington is near Russell Square. It is a very ordinary [but decent I'm sure]largeish tourist hotel - I've never seen the inside, but the outside wouldn't make me want to. It's on Southhampton Row I think. [or King's Row - I can never remember which is nearest Russell Square.

Stayed at the Bonnington a few years back. It was a typical tourist quality hotel. Very small rooms but clean and a helpful staff. The area was OK as I recall and very close to the British Museum. I would look around for other places to stay but if you are booked I wouldn't worry about it.

Here's another hotel in the same area that was recommended in this Forum:
The Celtic, 61 Guildford St, Russell Square, less than a block from the Russell Sq tube stop,5-6 blocks from the British Museum.
Phone 0171 837 6737 or 0171 837 9258
Hotel is old but clean and not without charm. No credit cards. There is an AmEx office a block away.
