Hotel and Travel Distance Help
Hello,

I'm trying to decide between a "Traditional Superior House" at Esperas (197 euro), or a studio at Atlantis (220 euro). Does anyone have an opinion? Which has nicer rooms, better location? I am looking for something a little special with a private balcony(I've heard Atlantis' rooms are a little plain, is this true?) Keep hearing about Katikies as well, different level I suppose.

Also, we'll be arriving in Oia from Kamari. Anyone have an idea of the best way to travel, and the amount of time that will take?? ( we'll be there in August ).

Thanks for your help

I will be staying at esperas in Sept. it will be my first time so I can't comment on them but I do think all of their rooms have a pvt. balcony and the people that work there have been very helpful. It's been 3 years since our last trip to Santorini but I think it would take about a half hour to get to Oia from Kamari by car. I have never taken the bus which is the only other option.

DD - I am sure there are some Fodorites who have information for you. But with the title "Hotel and Travel Distance Help" most probably won't read your question. Only Tricia has answered in more than 24 hours.

You have VERY specific questions while your title could be about anywhere in the world.

try posting a new thread with a title something like "Opinions of Esperas, Atlantis and Katikies. Also travel options between Oia an Kamari"

That may seem a little long - but at least people who know anything about those places will read it.

I just returned from my honeymoon in Greece. We stayed at Katikies and were HORRIBLY disappointed. (The staff was incredibly rude and pretentious, we had cockroaches in our room, they tried to put us in a room where you could not stand up in the loft where the bed was, and we were paying $280 per night).

We noticed Esperas while walking around Oia and thought that looked like our type of place. On a boat ride out to the volcano we met another honeymooning couple who were staying at Esperas. Aside from the fact their jacuzzi tub took a long time to fill up, they were thrilled with their accomodations.
