Horseback riding near Lago Maggiore

Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience with guided trail rides in the Lago Maggiore area? We have established a tradition of taking a trail ride on every vacation, and I'm not finding much on the internet about trail rides in this area.

Thanks!

I sure hope that this link will work. I googled for equestrian lago maggiore and I looked under groups.

There were some other hits too.

Enjoy. I never rode horse on lago Maggiore but I had a rubber boat and just rowed all day on the lake. I would row up-wind and then drift back. When it's lunch time, I would come back to the hotel. Actually we were four of us and kept falling out of the boat. We had a tupperware bottle and it was filled with champagne and fresh peaches. What a great mixture.

I used to this hotel often since I was working in Lucern. Great weekend breaks.

Try looking in areas around Lago d'Orta and do google searches for the towns of Miasino, Egro and Invorio. Also consider going up to Lugano or Varese.

Have you tried working with international horseback riding associations? Another suggestion is to do searches with the words "lombardy" or "lombardia" in them.

Good luck!
