horribly disappointing tour

i returned about two weeks ago from a one week tour of london and paris. among others things, the guide didn't know what she was doing(it was her second tour),she got us lost on the subways several times, the tour busses were late, which made us lose time at the museums, castles, etc.,and our group got put in a very ratty hotel because someone overbooked the hotel we were supposed to be in. i would like to get a refund from the company. any ideas on how to do this? it truly was a bad experience. thanks in advance for your advice and comments....

Conde Nast Travel Magazine has a column called Ombudsman that you can write to and explain your situation. If they agree they'll go to bat for you. But you have to try to get some satisfaction yourself first. If you don't read that travel magazine you will enjoy.

mz
