Hong Kong
yes, I know that this is the wrong forum but it does have people who like to help others with their queries unlike the Asia forum!!!I have 2days/3nights in HK and would like to plan my days before I go so I don't waste a minute of time!! Any tours/sites that are unmissable? Any restaurants to recommend?(Ones that are authentic)

Can't help you much with restaurants - my fiance lived there for 4 months so when we've been on holiday there he takes me to restaurants that he can't remember the name of, but he knows "it's red and it's on the xth floor of the block on the corner between y and z" - you get the picture! I can recommend the Peak Cafe though - the service is excellent, the food is good, the location is unbeatable and, although it's pricier than many restaurants in HK it's still reasonable.

Following on from that recommendation - definitely go up to the Peak, on the Peak tram, an hour or two before sunset. Walk around the paths at the top, watching the sun go down and the lights come on. When you've seen all you want to see, go and eat in the Peak cafe. Go back down on the top deck of a double decker bus for the complete experience.

Also not to be missed - Stanley, with its great market and the views from the bus on the way.

More great views to be had from the tower block by the new conference centre. There's good souvenir shopping to be done near here, too - there's a big shop called something like China Handicrafts - we spent ages in there!

Take a trip, or several, on the Star Ferry.

Wong Tai Sin temple is also worth a visit.

With only 2 days you probably won't have time to visit one of the other islands, but bear that in mind for next time - there are several that are worth a visit.

You will not have any problem filling 2 days in Hong Kong. Most consider the must sees to be Victoria's Peak, Stanley Market area, and the Star Ferry.
If you stay on HK island, be sure to take the ferry to Kowloon (takes about 10 minutes and costs less than $1USD). Tsim Sha Tsui is loaded with authentic restaurants and shops. It's a great area for walking and shopping.
Have a great trip,
j.
