Honfleur to Etretat Drive

I have 2 1/2 days in Honfleur, the day we arrive from Les Andelys which is a 1/2 day to explore the town, and then two full days.

The one day I was thinking of the trip to Etretat. The other day in the area of Beuvron en Auge.

The drive to Etretat from Honfleur is about 30 miles with some part of the drive along the coast road.

Will there be anything worthwhile along this route for a stop and visit on my way to Etretat, any side trips from Etretat that I shouldn't miss?

What about the area near Beuvron en auge? What are some of the must towns/village I should be visiting?

My plans are to do a loop of the area and go through Deauville. Am I on the right track?

From Honfleur I will be going to Bayeux so I don't want to drive too far West to explore as I will do this from Bayeux.

Not too far past Etretat is Fécamp, where you can tour the Benedictine distillery and museum. We really emjoyed it.

You might take a look at my trip report of our stay in Honfleur and experiences in the area:

Underhill, thanks for the topping which allowed for MARCY to leave her great trip report.

Marcy, thanks so much for your report. It was a wonderful read. Just what I needed as I plan for my upcoming trip to Normandy.

I have 3 days in Honfleur and then will drive to Bayeux for 3 days.

I plan to stop in Caen and visit the Memorial Museum on our way to Bayeux. We have booked a Battlebus tour for the following morning in Bayeux.

From Bayeux we have 3-days in Dinan. From here we plan on seeing Mont St. Michel. Do you feel this is the best time to view the Mont or should it be done from Bayeux?

We stopped at Mont St Michel on the way to Dinan from Bayeux. It worked out great for us - it wasn't overly crowded on May 2nd. However, you could easily go to MSM from Dinan as well. I just thought it was a bit of backtracking, and so decided to stop enroute.

How long of a drive is it from Honfleur to the D-Day beaches, considering not too much traffic in October? Is there train service to Honfluer from Paris, or best to go to Rouen first and rent a car from there?
