Should we choose Imerovigli or Oia for our honeymoon trip? Which one is more idyllic?

They are both pretty idyllic and you can't go wrong imho.

Imerovigli just seems a little more isolated and quiet because there is so little around there. Oia is a larger village with more shops and restaurants. From Imerovigli you have to walk a little ways into Fira. I think the choice of property and room may matter more than village.

Well, it depends on what you prefer. Oia is more crowdy and more crowdy than Imerovigli but it has much more choicese as far as dinning and entertainment are concerned. What is more, the castle of Oia is the most visited place during sunset time because the best sunset view is said to can be seen from there (http://www.oia-santorini.net/oia-sunset.html ). If you don’t mind renting a car and moving from one place to the other (actually the distance is short), then you can stay at Imerovigli, it also has sunset and caldera view, where you can enjoy a rather peaceful atmosphere and more idyllic than that of Oia. Check out the hotels and then decide on the basis of how much you wish to spend and where you will find the best room for you.

Oia is the most beautiful and romantic village and there are many excellent shops, restaurants, hotels and galleries there. Imerovigli is very quiet has the best overall views of both the caldera and the sunset. There are not a lot of shops and restaurants in Imerovigli but Imerovigli is much closer to Fira where many shops, restaurants, galleries as well as the best nightlife is to be found. Oia's nightlife is limited to a few mellow bars and cafes.
