Honey from Luxembourg Gardens in September?

From what I recall, sometime in September the bee keeper at the Luxembourg Gardens sells the honey from the hives he tends. I believe it's the 3rd weekend in September every year. Does anyone recall? I will be there the weekend of September 22nd and would love to pick some up for a gift (and some for me, too). Also, I can't remember where exactly it's sold. Chalk it up to old age! Any info is much appreciated!

I have never heard of this, so you got me curious. I could only find that there *is* an apiary at Luxembourg Gardens, and nothing else.

Did find this, though, so maybe he can help:
http://www.beekeeping.com/les-abeilles/index_us.htm

When I first read your post, it rang a tiny little bell. I knew I had heard of it somewhere. I just remembered that it was on a program on the Travel Channel and I had recorded it. It was called the "Top Ten Attractions of Paris" and they had the Luxembourg Gardens as no. 10. (I could argue with some of their choices, but that's beside the point. Most of their information was good.) Anyway, according to this program, the apiary in the Luxembourg does sell its honey beginning the 3rd weekend in September and the profits go towards the upkeep of the gardens. By the way, the beekeeper's name was given as Gilbert Prevert. Hope you can get some honey. Sounds like a great gift to me.

Apiary - that's what it's called! I couldn't, for the life of me, remember. Anyway, I thank you both for the information! Does anyone know if the Travel Channel is airing that program again?
The Travel Channel program was part of the "World's Best" series, subtitled "Top Ten Paris". I've checked their website and it doesn't look as though they are repeating it any time soon, at least not through the end of July. (That's as far as the listings go at present.) It was an hour-long program so the Luxembourg Gardens got about 5 minutes and the bit about the apiary was maybe 30 seconds. Having said that, if you'd still like to see it and can't find it elsewhere I'd be glad to send you my copy if you promise to send it back. (There are a couple of other things on that tape I'd really like to keep, including a program on Provence.) If you e-mail me your address I can send it to you ASAP. Their "Top Ten" list, BTW, which I found interesting, if a bit bizarre was:

10) The Luxembourg Gardens
9) The Tour d'Argent restaurant
8) Inline Skating (apparently the latest craze - organized group skates through the streets of Paris)
7) The Metro
6) The Marais (for shopping)
5) Pere Lachaise cemetery
4) The Seine
3) The Musee d'Orsay (preferred over the Louvre, judged "too big")
2) Notre-Dame
1) The Eiffel Tower
