Hi Judy, with 3 days you could take a Rhine cruise. Visit Sachsenhousen across the river for a good meal and their famous apple wine. Visit Old town Frankfurt. You could take a train to Wiesbaden. There are some mineral baths and there is a casino. There a couple of museums (can't remember their names but they are listed in other posts on Frankfurt.) If you take a Rhine cruise get off at Rudesheim for a couple of hours. You can also take a train ride along the Rhine. There are quite a few castles, some of which you can visit.
Regards,
Art
Hi Judy, I can't help you with hotels as when I lived in the Frankfurt area I had a house or an apartment. Maybe someone else will se this post and be able to help you. You could also create another post asking for hotels in Frankfurt as there are quite a number of people who have been there much more recently than I.
Regards,
Art
Hi!

I was in F just two days ago and stayed at the Pension Bruns in Mendelssohn- strasse, West End, U-Bahn station Festhalle/Messe, one stop from the Hauptbahnhof. This place is quite basic, with big rooms with hw and TV going for DM70, showers and toilets on the same floor. If this is your style give them a ring, number in the phone book.

Hi Judy!

I was in frankfurt just two days ago and stayed at the Pension Bruns, Mendelssohnstrasse, West End, U-Bahn station Festhalle/Messe, one stop from the main station.

This is a basic pension at 70DM a room, DM5 for breakfast, but the rooms are large, have hw and TV, and there are clean showers and toilets. If this is your scene, give them a ring, number in the phone book.

Judy, For a hotel, I've only stayed at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza on Darmstadter Landstrasse and Mailander Stasse by the Henninger Brewery. It's a great location in Sachsenhausen. This is the oldest section of Frankfurt and the best for dining out. Try the pub district around Rittergasse, just south of the Main River. It is a great area with countless bars and restaurants.

Just across the Alte Brucke (Old Bridge) is the Romerplatz square and St. Bartholomew's church. You can walk up into the steeple for a great view of the city. Walking north, you head into the Hauptwache area which has all kinds of shopping and the Alte Opera. There is the Museum of Modern History at the Romerplatz and the Goethe Museum also near the Hauptwache.

Try the schnitzel and pils at the Zum Bockchen on Rittergasse. I used to live in Morefelden and frequented the area. Have fun.
