Hi Cheryl. Reading your posts on Portugal with great interest. Any suggestions for a hotel right in Lisbon? We are looking for something not too expensive but not bottom of the line either. We will be paying in CAD dollars which makes things at least 60% higher than U.S. Any suggestions?

Cheryl

Hi, I'm tying to plan a trip to Portugal, but I'm having trouble deciding where to stay. We only have four full days. Should be base ourselves in Lisbon or is it worth spending a night somewhere else too?

My husband, children and I spent 2 weeks in Spain & Portugal last November. We all had a more enjoyable time throughout Spain. There really isn't much to see or do in Portugal, compared to Spain. We really loved the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, The Prado in Madrid, Reina Sofia, Thyssen, Royal Palace, Flamenco shows, Retiro Park, Barcelona, Toledo, Granada, delicious eclectic cuisines, very good wines, gorgeous Cathedrals, beautiful beaches and small white towns of Costa del Sol, and lovely Seville. We plan to go back next year with less time in Portugal.

Dear Cheryl, sounds like you had a wonderful trip, how long was it for? We want to drive from Barcelona to Lagos and maybe fly out of Faro, but I'm not sure if this is an over amibitious plan or not. I loved Lagos and Portugal and found it so quick and easy to travel around but I really want to see Barcelona and have fears the SPanish coastline will be too expensive to linger along. Any advice from anyone who knows the areas?

Thanks
