Hiring a driver

Hi. I am planing a trip to the Donegal area this spring and am trying to find out if it would be possible to hire a van for 5 adults with a driver. This is my second trip to Ireland, but driving last time left me stressed and unable to enjoy the scenery. I really don't want to attempt it again, plus this time we will have rent a larger vehicle. Last time it was just a regular sized car and I pulled over to cry more than once! If anyone has any info about doing this I would really appreciate the info. Thanks.

Here are a few things I found by searching.

http://www.landacleary.com/ireland_chauffeur_4.htm

http://www.discoverirelandtours.com/

There are a number of companies that do this. I haven't had any experience with any of them, but you can certainly get a good idea from it. You may also want to try 12travel.ie (or .com for the US based site). They get high marks as a travel agency. You certainly will have to pay more for that, but it might be worth it with your concerns.

I hope this helps.

I would be more than happy to drive y'all to Donegal and all you would have to do is pay for my pints, meals and lodging each evening Of course, tips are always welcome. Just something to think about. K

UPDATE: i have just spoken with a firm of drivers in donegal and they do drive visitors around donegal but at the moment they use mercedes cars which can only car four people and a driver. however, they are in the process of expanding this service to include a larger vehicle. the owner is to come back to me within the next couple of days and at that time i will give you a further update.
