Hertz GPS system in Ireland?
Hertz now has their "Neverlost" GPS navigation system available in Ireland. I've used it in the US and liked it, but was wondering how well it worked in Ireland. Has anyone actually used it or some other competitor's system in Ireland?

This exact question was asked not that long ago. You can do a search to find my response.
In a nutshell, I used it, didn't like it. Too much new road construction that doesn't yet register on the system. Bad directions from Dingle to Kilkenny (that trip took 90 minutes longer than it should have!). At one point was instructed to turn right - at a roundabout!
Have a really good map as a backup if you do decide to use it.

I was thiiiis close to renting through Hertz and getting their GPS. I ended up going with Dan Dooley and I'm getting some kind of GPS with them instead. I'm not going until the end of April though - so no advice yet on how it will work. I've gotten very mixed responses on how accurate it is there... .
I've used the Hertz system in Germany and it is outstanding!
I guess this response is essentially useles, huh? Sorry....

Well we are now have been in Ireland for a week. The Hertz GPS system has been wonderful, particularly in finding address and navigating the cities and towns. It has made things so much easier for DH who is driving and much less stressful for me who is usually reading the map.

Just back. Got a Garmin through Dan Dooley - what a stress reliever. Absolutely worth the extra money. Shaved almost an hour off a trip from Galway to Clonmacnoise (as compared to some online directions I had printed as back-up).
It wasn't able to find a new hotel in Galway, but certainly got us close enough to ask.
I brought a big fold out map, an older atlas I had and also had printed directions for just about everything. I like to be prepared! It was great - he drove, I navigated and followed our progress on the map just to be sure.
