here's info on special events in the UK this summer

Hi
One of my travel magazines (International Travel News) provides this info on special events for spring-summer 2005

60 year anniversary of end of WWII--will be noted in London on July 10

Many events will be for veterans only, but here will be a parade from the Mall to Buckingham Palace while vintage aircraft fly overhead. The Imperial War Museums in London and in Manchester will have special exhibits:

Hollyrood House, Edinburgh will have an exhibit from the collection of the late Queen Mother. March 19-Sept 25

Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, through Oct 30: 51 17th-century Dutch paintings, including Rembrandt and Vermeer.

York Art Gallery, through June 19:
British and European art, including Monet, Rembrandt.
Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, thoguh Dec 31--

Royal Horticultural flower shows at

Oooh...cool... in one of these events, you can actually learn how to do falconry!!! What a wonderful idea!

Hi Elaine,
Another item to add to the list of special events this summer is the Trafalgar 200 Anniversary, included is an International Fleet Review (28th June) and Festival of the Sea(30th June - 3rd July).Both events are in Portsmouth. Here is the website:-
