Yes, I've downed a few at Hennessy's Irish Pub! You may have seen me there in '98. Also at another Irish Pub around the corner from Hennessy's. Hennessy's Owners also opened a Restaurant & Pub (called Hennessy's) in Belém, near the Discoveries Monument.
I carry an Irish Republic Passport, and the Owners were happy to see me. But the Barman (a 'local') couldn't pull a proper pint of Guinness.

zelphiacat: not likely! I was in Lisbon doing a foto essay about MetroLisboa, the most passenger-friendly Metro system I found in Europe.
I was there at lunchtime. The Manager invited me to come back in the evening for some Irish music; some guy, apparently a 'regular,' was ranting and raving about kids in the Republic having to learn Irish. That didn't sit very well with me, being from Belmullet, County Mayo, which I consider part of the Gaeltacht).
I felt much more 'at home' in McGlaun's Irish Pub around the corner, on the circle where the trolley stops are, there at Cais do Sodré.
BTW
Even with Expo'98, I couldn't get my foto essay published in any of the travel-related publications I tried.
