One day trip to St. Petersburg may be a bit too much since the travelling time is something between 10-13 hours two ways. That does not leave much time to explore the city.. <BR>http://www.vr.fi/heo/english/ita/ita.htm <BR> <BR>I personally would go to Porvoo. <BR>http://www.porvoo.fi <BR> <BR>Or Tallinn (in Estonia) by ferry. <BR>http://www.tallinn.ee/english/index.html <BR>

I think it is about 90 minutes by hydrofoil. Take a look at <BR> <BR>www.inyourpocket.com <BR>

I have just spent 4 weeks in Helsinki and the best thing that I did when I was there was go over to Tallinn. The ferries run every 2 hours, we went on Linda Line (90 minutes and costs about 170FIM) and we also went on Nordic jet Line (2 hours a little more expensive 240FIM). The one thing I would say is book because we had problems getting on Linda line the scond time. Tallinn is great - try some of the restaurants in the main old town - Olde Hansa was good and also Troska (?) in the Town Hall square. Have a great time.
