I can't seem to figure this out!! I want to travel from Como to Florence. I've gone to trenitalia.com but I keep getting an error message (in Italian, no less!). Can anyone help with getting me a timetable so I can choose my train. I already have a ticket in hand. My travel date is Sept 28.

Pal, I checked trenitalia for you. If you are willing to depart at 9:18 AM, the 28 sept.you can take The U(Tratta Urbana) from Como Nord Borghi to Como S.Giovanni and from there take the CIS 153 to Florence at 13:57.
This is actually your best route because you dont have to change train after the Tratta Urbana.

Sorry, You will arrive in Florence at 1:57.

If you have problem with www.trenitalia.com, try www.rail.ch (Como San Giovanni to Firenze S.M.N).

LaParisienne - The Tratta Urbana you mention is in Milan, not Como.

Pal - The only DIRECT service leaves Como SAN GIOVANNI at 10.13.
Journey time = 3 hours 44'

All other services from Como San Giovanni require a change of train at Milan Centrale.
