help with train from rome to siena!
please help me!<BR><BR>i am leaving the day after new years for siena, but i am flying from newark to rome. my host family was supposed to pick me up in rome, but now they cannot. does anyone know how i can get from rome to siena? remember, i'll be carrying all my luggage. i am also a young female by myself, don't know if that will make a difference.<BR><BR>please let me know the easiest and most failproof way of getting from rome to siena!!!!<BR><BR>thank you so much!!!

emma: I was going to go in the opposite direction in '01 but ended up renting a car for 2 weeks, so no 1st hand info.<BR> But to add to "a" post check-out www.sena.it/ www.lazzi.it/senaautolinee/index_e.htm You can take the train from the airport to Tiburtina and you can get a reserved seat on these buses.<BR> Good-Luck..Regards, Walter

I lived right outside of Siena. i tried several means of transportation and my best advice is to take the bus. It is a 3 hour ride on a very confortable luxury bus. It is the easiest and most direct way. from the airport you need to get to Tiburtina (either cab or train).<BR><BR>If you do take the train, you could take train from main train station in Rome to Grosseto and switch there.
