help with paris-rome trains

need some advice guys about getting tickets from paris to rome return.
prices seem to be coming up quite expensive at almost 300 euro and thats with both sncf and trenitalia. planning to travel in late august so lots of time. seen some reduced rates on first class tickets but the sncf website won't complete the transaction. any advice?
also i read earlier what someone wrote about printing your own tickets but i don't see that option on any of the sites.
complete novice at this so could really do with some help. thanks

It may be cheaper to fly one of the budget airlines.

I entered some arbitrary dates in late August for the night train each way and did a dummy booking on the SNCF site. I found prices as low as E80 each way (E110 for 1st class) and I could have completed the transaction.

If you give the dates and times you wish to travel, I'll enter them and see what happens.

You're welcome. You got a good deal. And you'll appreciate the extra space in a 1st class couchette compared to a 2nd class one.
