Help with musical choice
I've narrowed my theatre choices down to the following four -- and am looking for recommendations.
-- Thoroughly Modern Millie
-- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
-- Anything Goes
-- Blood Brothers
I like HIGH ENERGY musicals with lots of song and dance. I prefer musicals where singing and dancing are dominant over acting or even the storyline. Any recommendations out there on the four I've listed? THANKS!

Thanks Andy. Is just the ending sad? Or the entire show? Would you consider the music upbeat and "happy"? I know the questions sound strange but I like dancing and music -- for example -- my favorite shows are ones like Mama Mia, Aida, Chicago, Bombay Dreams. Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Blood Brothers is wonderful - but definitely NOT 'upbeat and "happy"'. It is very dramatic, serious and sad -- tragic even (with some light moments to break the tension)
So it probably is not the sort of show you would like.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is glorious - good music and wonderful special effects.
Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie are decent, but for you, CCBB would be my recommendation.

Yes, Aida doesn't exactly have an "upbeat and happy" storyline -- but it has its "joyous" moments. I'm wondering if Blood Brothers does too ... maybe I'd better stick with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang -- although the guests who will accompany me will probably think I've lost my mind -- choosing a "kid" show. Thanks to all!
