Help with Kinsale accommodations

We're looking for 2 nights accommodations in Kinsale in September. Has anyone stayed at Blindgate House or Chart House?

We'd welcome any other recommendations as well.

Thanks,
Alice

We stayed at the Cephas House in Kinsale. It was nice with a spectacular view. The rooms looked out on the bay. What seemed like it would be a long walk to twon wasn't bad at all, and it was nice after a night of Guinness to have a bit of a walk in the fresh air.

We stayed at the Chart House in April and liked it - see my review on post:

If you search on either of these places on the forum, you should find other reviews of them.

Hello, be careful with the Chart House. They still have a big construction area opposite to their house I think!

the construction was there when we were there too, but we hardly noticed it.

The super nice /large rooms , and the wonderful owners are the things I remember most of staying there. My father still remarks on how nice it was there.

Mary (owner) gives the best/most detailed directions of anyone we found on our trip. And makes a fabulous breakfast.

I agree with Debbie on the Chart House - we didn't notice the construction at all (we were there in May). Mary and Billy are fabulous hosts and never let us leave without being certain we had plans and directions for the day. The showers were the best of anywhere we stayed, when they say power showers they aren't kidding.

Book early, they only have four rooms and fill up quickly I agree with Debbie on the Chart House - we didn't notice the construction at all (we were there in May). I tried to contact the Charthouse to reserve a room fopr a few days in mid September way back in January and they were already booked. It seems there is some sort of awards event going on in the town mid September for a week and many of the larger places, or more luxurious places like the Charthouse were booked solid. So contact them ASAP to be sure your dates won't conflict. I booked in to the Old Presbytery which was a Rick Steve's recommendation.
