Help with hotels, please!

We would like to stay in either Fira or Oia & want an upscale hotel, not necessarily IN town, but within a short walk. Don't care about bars, clubs, etc., just good restaurants.

You will get more responses if you repost with "Santorini hotels" in the title of your thread.

It would be helpful to know your maximum budget per night in euros.

If budget is no object, then look at Ikies, Katikies, and Perivolas in Oia.

We stayed at Strogili and it was in a great location (walking distance to the village) and the hotel itself was also really great. Amazing views from the rooms, and the service was also great. Every morning you are served a breakfast to your private balcony with a caldera view which is a great way to start your day.

They're all excellent. It's difficult to choose but I think Aspaki and Oia Castle are at the top of my list. If budget is an issue then go with Filotera Villas or Delfini Hotel.

My limited experience is a stay at Golden Sunset Villas in Oia in Sept 08. It was great and I would highly recommend it. Check out reviews on Tripadvisor.com. I was overwhelmed with choices but happy with our choice. Comfortable, great view, nice breakfast, and close to anything you might like.

Brotherleelove is on it! 09/08, we stayed & married @ Aspaki, & it was amazing! I did, however, end up chatting with Dmitris @ Oia Castle, and the 'rooms' (mini castles) and views were breathtaking! Splurge at 1800 restaurant for dinner!

Hotel Espera. It's on the northern end of the village. We spent a month on Santorini in June 2008, and based ourselves in Oia. Fira is good for a day trip. Too touristy for us. We never stayed at the Espera in Oia but we rented a house just next door to this hotel. The view is the most amazing! If we didn't commit to renting the villa, we would have stayed at the Hotel Espera, which also has a small parking lot, very convenient if you want to have a rental car.

Waiyeehawaii-

Is there a name and/or website for the villa you rented? I'd be grateful for any information.
