Santorini Hotel Question - Oia?

Hi All - I know a lot has been posted about Santorini hotel recommendations - I have a bit of a different question though...

It appears that many of the cave apartments/villas are "self-service" - my take on that is, you check in and then you are on your own while you're there.

I am looking for a full service apartment, house or villa which has a reception desk staffed 24/7 or at least a phone in the room that you can call someone if you need anything. I am not high maintenance by any stretch, but I would probably require some advice on directions, where to grab a bite to eat, bus stops, and other local tourist stuff, as well as transportation to and from the ferry.

Any advice based on which hotels have this type of service?? I plan to stay in Oia and am looking for a caldera view. The view and location in Oia are more important to me than the full service bit, but I just wanted to get some input on this from others. Thanks!!

Not all of the rooms and apartments are self-catering but most do have daily maid service. Some places have pools and a few have on-site restaurants. When will you be there, do you want a pool and, most importantly, what is your daily room budget?

Hi Brotherlee Love - You seem to be the master of all that is Greece!

Thanks so much for responding to my questions...

As for my stay, I will be there from June 11 - June 14 (3 nights total). I would like to find a place that is reasonable in Santorini, but I am willing to extend myself a bit higher than normal because I am booking last minute, and I would rather go a bit higher end than lower end if my ideal choices are booked. So, price range is up to 300E (I know this is a wide range). I would prefer a pool, but if there is a fantastic place that I should consider without one, I will consider it. Hope that helps!

P.S. I called Nostos Apartments and they are booked. I also called Oia Castle & Aspakia - Oia Castle has their most expensive suites available (too expensive for me!), and Esperas Traditional Houses does have availability. I would prefer Caldera view, so I am holding out on booking with them...I also called Chelidonia Villas. Any others I should try??

Last year we stayed in Esperas Traditional Houses. The place was great, nice pool, they served lunch, but limited for dinner. It was a beautiful place overlooking the caldera.

Too bad Aspaki's booked, it's great.

Check Strogili Houses, Atrina Houses, Kima Villas, Caldera Villas, Lampetia Villas, Aspa Villas, Aris Caves, Old Oia Houses, Lena's House, Zoe-Aegeas Houses, Volcano's Villas, Nikos Villas, Filotera Villas and Delfini Hotel.

Thanks brotherleelove - out of those you mentioned, are there any in the "class" of Askpaki?? Can you narrow it down to your top 2 or 3 choices??

None of these are in the same category as Aspaki. For that check Ikies, Canaves Oia, Kirini, Perivolas Villas, Katikies Hotel, Andronis Suites and Alexander's Boutique Hotel.

I also vote for Esperas, lovely traditional cave rooms with great pool and amazing views. The staff were also very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations etc.
