HELP with ground transportation from Heathrow

Does anyone have experience with airport shuttles to and from Heathrow? I don't want to take the train with luggage and traveling solo. I will be staying in the Kensington area arriving May 2nd at 6:30 am from US/Newark. Will the shuttles wait if the plane is delayed? Can I make reservations by phone or on-line? What is the approximate cost. Thank you. Johanna

The tube would be the cheapest and easy. You could go direct to South Kensington and get a taxi from there.

Alternatively, you might wish to try the following shuttle service that will take you to the door:

I've used Hotelink twice when travelling from a London hotel to Heathrow. Staying at a hotel I have always booked them several days ahead through the front desk. Last time was in 2006 and cost GBP17.00. It is convenient as it is a door-door service and I always have too much luggage on my departure to take the underground. They operate small buses of about 10-12 passengers so there aren't too many stops.

I haven't taken them from Heathrow yet. As Heathrow is such a major airport, you should be able to walk up to a counter and get a ride anytime during normal flight hours.

Attached is the website. Seems they have changed their name to Dot2Dot...

Minicab/car service is about £35. Many people on this forum seems to use JustAirport. I usually use my local Swiss Cottage Cars. You book in advance over a telephone, give them the flight details. The driver should check the arrival time to take note of any flight delay (but not long queues at passport control/delay in luggage carrousel). Look for a driver holding a sign with your name in the arrival area.

I've used justairports.com as W9 mentioned with good results. If you pay in cash, it costs less. I've found them reliable & a painless way to get to my destination.
