Help with French Riviera

Unless you have a car St.Tropez is difficult to access, compared to the other two, and would also restrict your movements along the Riviera by day.
Monaco is more expensive, so I would settle for Cannes, and do day or half day trips to see the rest.

Another vote for Menton. We stayed there last year at the Hotel Princess and Richmond (www.princess-richmond.com).

A good source of info is www.crt-riviera.fr.

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.

Great info, you all have me digging deeper into some of the small towns in the area. Most of what I will be seeing is available more by bus than train, are there any websites for bus travel or is that something you just look into upon arrival? As I move on with my trip beyond France, I see some train routes that take far longer than they should to get places.

I stayed in Nice and used the bus to visit Eze village, St. Paul de Vence and Vence. The buses left frequently out of Nice. You can also easily take the train from Nice to Cannes or Monte Carlo. I agree that St. Tropez is really hard to get to without a car.
Ellen
