Help with first two nights in the riviera

I will be flying into NIce airport, but do not want to stay in NIce, cause we will wind up there at the end of our trip. I am alittle concerned about picking up the car at the airport and driving too far on unfamiliar roads and A8 with jet lag. Any suggestions about places which are nt too far from the airport?
Is the drive from NIce Airport to St. Paul de Vence terribely difficult?
Tourette Sur Loupe?

St Paul de Vence is quite close and easy to get to.

St. Paul - perfect - Lots of tourists? Yes, but we are all tourists and want to see the most beautiful places. Don't go there without reservations! We did it and couldn't get in anywhere. Had to go to Nice to book into a hotel.

and if not, how's the parking there at night?

How about Mas de Soleil?

I've stayed at both Mas du Soleil and Le Hameau and can recommend them both. We did walk to dinner from Le Hameau but it is along a narrow winding road, although not far at all. We also walked from Mas du Soleil into the village of Tourrettes sur Loup for dinner. E-mail me if you like or have more specific questions at [email protected]

If you don't want to walk from Le Hameau, there is parking just outside the walled village of St Paul but don't know how plentiful it is at night. If you eat at La Colombe D'Or, they have their own parking lot(s).

BTW, while it's not far or difficult to get to St Paul from Nice airport, I must admit we usually make at least one wrong turn, despite having been many times. :-<

Villefranche, Beaulieu & Cap Ferrat are all a bit closer to the airport in the other direction & would also be good locations from which to explore for 2 days. Eze is a hill top village similar to St Paul. I'm NOT suggesting skipping St Paul (you should visit if you don't stay there), merely giving you alternatives near the airport.
