>>St. Cirq has it about right. One thing I'd stress is to let the stronger rower sit in the back of the canoe. Believe it or not, that makes a big difference!<<

My wife has no aptitude in a canoe. She thought that all you have to do is sit there & let the current take you along - like a ride at Disneyland. I got the double paddled oar, sat in the back, & put my wife in the front of the canoe. I told her to sit still & don't even move a muscle. As we passed Roque Gageac and Beynac, I had to turn the boat in a 360 so she could take the appropriate photographs.

stu - your wife sounds like me. I'm definitely a passenger when it comes to things like canoes.

DH just bought a boat!

Thanks for your advice! I will be sitting in the front of the boat.

Mr. Go, I am glad to hear that everything worked out okay with your rental car.

Thanks MayTrav;

All my emails with Ch. Treyne have been most helpful and they were very patient with all the questions I asked. When I changed dates, .they were also very receptive and even offered to help me with transportation.

So..I am hoping my experience will be positive as well. I read reports on TA and of course wonder, but not everyone has the same tastes or the patience it sometimes takes being a guest in another country.
Appreciate your reply!

And being married to an avid canoe guy, you can imagine the angst I go through trying to keep my oar in the water! I may plead blistered hands that day. LOL
