My husband and I will be in the Tuscany area at the end of April. We will have about 4 nights to spend there. Does anyone have any suggestions for a B&B? Thanks for your help!

Tuscany can mean several different parts of it.
I will try to help you to discover small towns not very famous and where it is easy to gain the feeling of Tuscany.
I give you three suggestions of B&B:
in Montalcino I suggest you the B&B PORTA CASTELLANA (www.portacastellana.it)a very lovely B&B in a delicious town (by the way, you will taste Brunello di Montalcino if you like wine);
in a quite different part of Tuscany, Lamporecchio, I suggest you the B&B TORRE VITONI (www.torrevitoni.it) charming place
in Vicopisano, close to Pisa but not so far from Florence, I suggest you the B&B VILLA FIONA (www.villafiona.it).
If you are focused on food, rather then B&B you should search for D&B (Dinner & Bed) and if it is so, then I will give you 7 suggestions.

We would like a central location where can drive to different towns. We want to rent a car when we arrive. We aren't on a strict budget but don't want to spend a fortune either. We are used to 4 star hotels. D&B sounds great. I would love to have information on them also. Thanks for all your help.

You need to read a guide book and pick a location that suits what you want to see---Tuscany is too big to pick one location.

My suggested D&B in Tuscany:
D&B LA TORRICELLA, in Poppi, in the part of Tuscany named Casentino.
Bed is very comfortable and Dinner is great. The chef is the owner, lady Diana and her daughter Roberta makes delicious dessert. Taste also their Prosciutto, different from Parma and San Daniele.

Still in Poppi, the very nice D&B CAMPALDINO, only 10 rooms and a great dinner with fiorentina and mushrooms.
The owners are sister and brother, young, clever and very kind: Erica e Floriano.

Not far from these 2 D&B there is a very charming D&B: LA RAMUGINA.
The palace is very ancient and it seems to live in the past.
If you can, choose for one of the two suites in the towers of the palace.
The restaurant is very good and very elegant, also.

Very close to San Gimignano and not far from Siena, a luxury D&B: VILLASANPAOLO.
Unique for position and comfort, maybe a bit expensive, it is also a spa, so you can relax.

D&B LOCANDA DEGLI ARTISTI, in Borgo San Lorenzo, in the part of Tuscany named Mugello. Only half hour from Florence, also by comfortable train.
The Bed part, the hotel, has only seven rooms and if you can choose, will choose the room IL GLICINE.
The restaurant is very good, NOT cheap (!).

You will enjoy it, as Bed and as Dinner and do not miss their typical mushrooms named prugnoli.

In Chianti land, I suggest the D&B OSTERIA DEL VICARIO, in Certaldo Alto, delicious small hill town and smart for day trips to Florence, Pisa and San Gimignano that is very close.
The palace is an ancient monastery and only four are the rooms.
The restaurant is very delicious and it is in the ancient hall of the monastery(chiostro).
Do not miss this place !

We will be spending five days in Rome and three in Florence. I am looking for a place where we can experience true Italian culture.
