HELP!!!! Need train/plane experts

We need help! Our wounderful cheap airline tickets from NWA or becoming a major problem. We need to get from Rome (FCO) to Zurick on Feb 4, 2005 after 12:00 noon. I have looked at trains and we can get one that leaves at 2038 and is an overnight train but it looks like the cost would be about $400 per person. I can't find any flights from Rome to Zurick, the only place anyone flys is Genvia.

NWA will not let us off at AMS to fly to Zurick. We cannot change the tickts, etc.

Any plane ideas or train ideas?

If we bought a two county rail pass (swiss and Italy) would the railpass cover the overnight train (we would need to pay for reservations and a sleeper)?

Thoughts? Ideas???

Hi are,

Go to www.whichbudget.com.

Choose "I want to fly to" Switzerland.

There are budget fights from FCO to ZuricH.

There are flights on Alitalia for $230 but they leave in the morning. the later in the day you leave they go up to $900-$1500. I would maybe leave earlier. there is an 11:00 am flight for $308. i looked at a return on feb 8th. good luck.

areinert,

go to
www.helvetic.com
One way flights from FCO to ZRH cost EUR 99 +tax. The airline is absolutely fine - I've flown it myself, nice planes, no complaints.

That said, the night train costs a lot less than $400 if booked locally. Still I would definitely fly.

Hope this helps,
Andre

The information provided by Andre is the answer that leaps off the page, when one knows to visit www.whichbudget.com

Specifically,

http://www.whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?to=ZRH

Best wishes,

Rex

Oh one more point - if you book FAST, you can get the flight for only EUR 9 + taxes, so EUR 48 TOTAL!

This is their 1-year anniversary special and you must book by tomorrow, Dec. 12 - so go for it ASAP, especially since seats for the offer are limited (but still available right now for Feb. 4)!

Hope this helps,
Andre
