600 posts! Did BrinhamRocks see that?

Re my clue. Go back to where I originally posted the clue. Everything you need is there. Once you get it, you'll realize the answer was obvious. (If it's not something you happen to know off-hand, I know you can find it. It isn't that obscure.). If a possible answer you come up with sounds far-fetched and doesn't quite fit, then that must not be it.

Additional hint: The historic events sung at the Teatro Massimo and painted on the carts took place in the 13th century.

Cant find too much about the 13th century, other that San Francis d'Assisi established the order, also the Domenincan friars Orders were formed during that time, the Crusaders in Jerusalemm, the Gothic cathedrals, etc..,

Phil, you're right. i don't know why I never noticed that I said 3 "i"s and at this point I forgot what I was ever thinking--maybe 3 words with "i" or 3 "i"s in "Siciliani"? I told you it was an easy one, but if only I could count! Sorry! I will need to have a back-up counter looking over my shoulder after this.

Grr.... and to say that I had it hours ago, but was afraid of posting by the limitation on "I"s.

Let's stay in the same category, building on an "I" (what else?). Two-part answer of 9 plus 4 letters, the i as 3rd:

Transplanted by a swan to the city of lights from the alps.

Has to be "Guillaume Tell" written by Rossini, but according to what I've learned on Google, it was Bellini who was known as "the Sicilian Swan." Did Rossini have a similar nickname? Or (perish the thought) is Phil trying to get back at cmt for miscounting the i's?

No, he's far too good-natured to do things like that. O

Betty1 is right, so it's your turn.

Rossini was known as the "swan of Pesaro". Funny thing there are so many composers dubbed swans, considering the honking noise they (the swans!) use to give off

The "swan of Pesaro," huh. That is funny especially considering that from his pictures, it looks like he weighed about 300 lbs!

I think I'd better forfeit my turn as I am going out of town tomorrow morning and will be gone for a few days. Not sure I can get to a computer. So somebody else can jump in here if you like. I would like to point out, however, that we never solved jody's word.

Clue was "... building on the O of Liverpool as 5th letter..

Don't mispronounce this when visiting your travel agent or you might get turned on instead of ticketed."

11 letters.

Also "Love is in the air" and "Don't try to find it here on Thanksgiving! Ain't no way!" I thought it might be the name of an airline or a place in Turkey, but can't find anything to fit.

Anyway, y'all have fun and I'll be back probably Friday evening.

Who designed the oculus of Rome's Pantheon?

12 letters (used all the fingers on both hands and then needed to start over and use up two fingers of one hand again), and two of them (just two, I counted really carefully) are "L"

Jody: Can we put this on hold for now? I had in mind the version of the oculus that exists today, rather than the version that may have existed in Hadrian's time. So I'd like to check with someone who knows more than I do.
