Help! leave Monday ~ Soglio trail question

I have the following notes for Soglio, but now can't find out much more about this

"From Soglio the asphalted road, that goes down towards Promontogno, must be followed for a brief stretch until arriving at a bend above the alpine huts of Plaza and where, on the right, a small road goes off down to the beautiful Caroggia waterfall. From here a tunnel marks the entrance to the suggestive Brentan chestnut woods, still today skilfully cultivated.

What are the alpine huts of Plaza? The huts where they cook the chestnuts?

Has anyone been on this walk? Worthwhile? Can't find any pictures/images on Google or Flickr.

The description is very accurate. I did it two or three years ago. Yes, it is worthwile, but more so in fall when the leaves change their colours and they roast the chestnuts in the huts (but many of the huts are turned into weekend homes).

I am on a trip in Weimar right now and internet time is very limited, sorry. Have a great trip!

We did the walk. However, I thought the Sentiero Panoramica hike was more enjoyable, though pretty long.

Thanks Linda, we may concentrate on the Sentiero Panoramica, we thought it amazing.

Weren't you the one that talked about a hut part way along the Sentiero Panoramica where there is freshly made cheese? I'm not sure we made it that far, we did come to a small house/hut but no way to know if that was the one or not?

Can't wait to be back there!

Yes I was! It's not a house, it's more of a semi permanent "stand" with a few tables.

That's a picture of my DH with the "cheese man". VERY nice man. Best goat cheese I ever tasted and the beer break was much needed. I love Soglio!

Thanks Linda, that helps a lot. There were no tables at the place we saw. I don't think we went far enough.

By chance have you ever listened to Nella Fantasia by Celtic Woman? You can play part of the song here

http://www.amazon.com/Celtic-Woman/d...0&sr=1-1-spell

And here are the Lyrics

In my fantasy I see a just world,
Where everyone lives in peace and in honesty.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the spirit.

In my fantasy I see a bright world,
Where each night there is less darkness.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly.

In my fantasy exists a warm wind,
That breathes into the city, like a friend.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the spirit.

This is how I feel when I am at the back of the church in Soglio looking out onto that view. I used the music on our Switzerland 2009 DVD for the pictures of Soglio.

Soglio has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.
